Direct Support Professional (DSP) / Caregiver Desire Care Kenner, LA 70065 Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Caregiver to provide essential support to individuals with disabilities or those requiring assistance in their daily lives. This role involves working closely with clients to enhance their quality of life through personalized care and support in home and community settings. The ideal candidate will be patient, understanding, and committed to fostering independence while ensuring safety and well-being. Responsibilities Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication administration. Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the client’s social engagement. Implement individualized care plans tailored to the specific needs of each client. Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients, ensuring their comfort and security. Document care provided and report any changes in client condition to appropriate personnel. Experience Previous experience in caregiving or related fields such as home health, senior care, or assisted living is preferred. Familiarity with working with individuals with autism or other disabilities is a plus. Knowledge of patient care practices and medication administration is beneficial. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients, families, and team members.
