Direct Support Personnel Celia and Willie Mae Therapeutic Group Home West Monroe, LA 71292 Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our team. This role is essential in providing support and assistance to individuals with disabilities or special needs in various settings. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for those they serve through personalized care and support. Duties As a Direct Support Professional, your responsibilities will include: Assisting individuals with daily living activities such as personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication management. Supporting clients in social interactions and community engagement to promote independence and social skills. Implementing individualized care plans tailored to each client’s needs and preferences. Monitoring and documenting clients’ progress and any changes in behavior or health status. Providing companionship and emotional support to enhance the overall well-being of clients. Ensuring a safe and clean environment for all individuals under your care. Collaborating with other healthcare professionals, family members, and caregivers to ensure comprehensive support. Experience Candidates should possess the following experience or skills: Previous experience in group home settings or personal care environments is highly desirable. Familiarity with first aid practices and emergency response protocols. Background in memory care or home community care is a plus. Knowledge of social work principles or caregiving techniques will be beneficial. A compassionate approach with excellent communication skills is essential for success in this role.
