Supplies/Clinical Assistant Homecare & Hospice, VNA of Cape Cod 3.6 3.6 out of 5 stars Falmouth, MA This position will manage the ordering of medical supplies and medical equipment. In addition, the position will manage all aspects of the inventory of the offices. Interact with staff and patients in a warm and friendly manner as well as routinely travel to the satellite offices to stock medical and office supplies in support of the clinical staff
Description :
1. Support and order supplies and maintain an inventory of medical supplies. Routinely travel to the satellite offices to stock medical and office supplies in support of the clinical staff. 2. Coordinate ordering of medical and phlebotomy supplies for Clinical Services for the agency as needed to maintain inventory. As necessary, coordinates disposal of hazardous materials. 3. Research vendors through the internet and/or catalogs, to obtain the best price for requests for special supplies. 4. Uses PeopleSoft Supply Chain Management to create requisitions for approvals of medical supplies. 5. Maintain communications with vendor sales reps for pricing, availability, and assistance. 6. Assembles trunk boxes and VNA bags for new clinical staff as needed. Orient new staff to the supply process for emergency box replenishment and reviews on a group or individual basis the supplies received. 7. Orders and replenishes worn equipment for clinical staff. 8. Confirms/Approves Bulk order invoices with Accounts Payable Dept. Troubleshoots and tracks problems. 9. Tracks supplies and equipment given to clinical staff. 10. Maintains patient education file in each office and provides a supply of patient handouts for clinical use. 11. Replenishes and orders office supplies by notifying appropriate person(s). 12. Assures admit packs and clinical forms are in supply. Informs appropriate department for transport and restock. 13. Ensure prior and re-authorization for supplies obtained as per the individual insurer and maintains documentation of all authorizations for services. 14. Facilitates communication between clinician and Clinical Practice Educators as required to ensure quality, appropriate and cost effective care and utilization of supplies. 15. Ensure compliance with all regulatory agencies including Medicare, Medicaid and DPH. 16. Consistently provides service excellence to all patients, family members, visitors, volunteers, and co-workers. 17. Other duties as assigned
Qualifications :
High School diploma or equivalent. Excellent interpersonal skills having the ability to work independently and cooperatively in a team setting. Knowledge of MS Office and automated medical supply inventory system preferred. Must have excellent organization skills with strong attention to details
Schedule Details :
22.5 hrs. per week, , Mon/Tues/Fri 7:00am – 3:00pm expected to travel to all VNA offices and occasionally the islands
