We are currently seeking Direct Support Professionals(DSP) to join our team, provide support and assistance toindividuals served who have developmental disabilities. The Direct SupportProfessional (DSP) will provide training, assistance and support toindividuals with intellectual disabilities and significantbehavioral challenges and mental health conditions. DSP’s will alsoassist individuals in learning and maintaining skills, having newlife experiences and respond to behaviors utilizing positivebehavior supports. Must be willing to flex schedule according tothe needs of the individuals served. Weekend staff needed.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

Participate in the development and positive implementation ofindividual’s plans. Implement Behavior Support Plans, ReplacementBehavior Trials and reinforcement plans consistently, continuouslyand as written across all environments. Provide positive behavioralsupports according to individual BSPs and provide positivereinforcement when individuals engage in socially appropriatebehavior. Respond to emergency situations as trained utilizing allaspects of the Mandt Training. Implement Relational Mandtcontinuously to ensure a positive, engaged and therapeuticenvironment. Implement Technical Mandt when safety is compromised(ex: physical aggression, dangerous self-injurious behavior anddangerous property destruction) per training and only as needed.

Report any restraints or significant behavior to the on-call assoon as the situation de-escalates or if assistance is needed.

Assess for injuries post behavior or restraint and notify on-callimmediately. Make recommendations for changes to plans based onbest practices, hands on experience and individual’s needs. Prepareand enter daily behavior data as required by the BC. Document thebehavior and the environment in observable and measurable terms.

Administer medications and follow physicians’ orders concerningmedications and treatments. Monitor the general well-being of theindividual served and follow supervisor/nurse instructions,including all healthcare appointments. Comply with all standards toassure the health and safety of all individuals. Communicate tonurse and supervisor health issues and concerns as they ariseregarding individuals served. Provide communication to supervisorsregarding individuals served, about their home, day program or workrelated needs, as applicable to each individual.

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent Valid Driver’s License Access toa vehicle in good operating order proof of auto insuranceExperience working with individuals with developmental disabilitiespreferred Benchmark Human Services is an EOE/AAP Employer.
