The Direct SupportProfessional plays a vital role in providing assistance with dailyactivities, providing emotional support, supervising communityoutings, and supporting treatment plans in partnership withclinical staff to enhance the quality of life for those wesupport. For 50 years, Pine Belt Mental Healthcare Resources has servedindividuals throughout the Pine Belt. Through an extensivecontinuum of care, we strive to enable adults with serious mentalillnesses, children with serious emotional disturbances, andindividuals with an addiction or developmental disability to live,work, learn, and participate fully in their communities. Oureighteen county service area includes Amite, Franklin, Forrest,Hancock, Harrison, Jones, Lamar, Lawrence, Covington, Greene, JeffDavis, Marion, Pearl River, Perry, Pike, Stone, Walthall, WayneCounties.
Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent required Must beable to obtain MS CDL Class C Driver’s License within 60 days ofhire Valid Mississippi Driver’s License with satisfactory drivingrecord (no moving violations within 3 years) Will pass CPR, MANDT,and other required testing Experience working with the IDDpopulation preferred Experience assisting others with
ADLspreferred Responsibilities:
Act as models for appropriate behavior. Mayprovide transportation to and from facilities and to and fromactivities in the community. Performs other work-oriented tasks asassigned by supervisor. Responsible for training participants inskills and conduct daily activities, training, and documentationfor IDD day programs. Will eat lunch on site with participants andtake breaks on site. Will remain on site for entire workday, exceptas authorized by supervisor. Demonstrates the importance ofcommunity involvement, social interactions, and maintainingrelationships. Assists with job exploration, application, trainsindividuals on job specific duties, and enhances natural supportsin work environment to facilitate individual’s independence in thework place.
