DSP (Direct Support Professional) 2.3 2.3 out of 5 stars Ellisville, MS 39437 Job Overview Embracing Hearts Healthcare is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our team. Embracing Hearts Healthcare provides services through the MS IDD waiver which is a Medicaid waiver for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. We provide them with In Home Nursing, In Home Respite, or Home and Community Supports which allows us to take individuals into the community. Depending on the individuals level of care is what service we provide. In this role, you will provide essential support to individuals with disabilities, ensuring their well-being and enhancing their quality of life. You will work closely with individuals to assist them in daily activities, promote independence, and practice person-centered care. Responsibilities Assist individuals with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication administration. Implement individualized care plans tailored to the specific needs of each individual. Support individuals with disabilities, including those on the autism spectrum, in social interactions and community engagement. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations while maintaining confidentiality of individual information. Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance individuals ‘ mental well-being. Monitor and document individual’s’ progress and any changes in behavior or health status. Advocate for individuals rights and promote a safe and respectful living environment. Participate in training sessions related to direct support techniques. Requirements Experience working with individuals with disabilities is preferred; experience with autism or intellectual/developmental disabilities. Knowledge of individuals rights and commitment to upholding them in all interactions. Familiarity with HIPAA regulations regarding individual’s confidentiality. Ability to administer medications as prescribed by healthcare professionals. (If applicable) Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team. Compassionate demeanor with a genuine desire to help others improve their quality of life. Drivers License/ SS Card. High School Diploma or GED. Car insurance (if applicable.)
