Personal Care Assistant Heart of Grace Home Care Laurel, MS 39440 Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide essential support to individuals in need of assistance with daily living activities. The ideal candidate will be reliable. Have open availability to work 12 hr. shifts on Friday and Saturdays for a bedbound client. Responsibilities Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, grooming, and dressing. Provide medication administration as directed by healthcare professionals. Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs. Offer direct support to clients in their homes or group home settings. Engage clients in meaningful activities that promote social interaction and cognitive function, particularly for those with memory care needs. Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients, ensuring all areas are tidy and organized. Document client progress and any changes in condition accurately and promptly. Collaborate with healthcare providers and family members to develop personalized care plans. Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the client’s quality of life. Requirements Previous experience in patient care or senior care is preferred. Knowledge of CPR techniques is a plus. Experience working with individuals with disabilities is highly desirable. Familiarity with memory care strategies and group home environments is beneficial. Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with clients. Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for helping others are essential traits. Ability to follow care plans accurately while being flexible to meet changing client needs.
