Support Care Professional Mississippi Adolescent Center / BRC 760 Brookman Dr Ext, Brookhaven, MS 39601 The MS Adolescent Center (MAC) is an IDD facility operated under the Department of Mental Health. Our program serves individuals between the ages of 13 and 21.

Description:

Jobs in this family provide hands-on, direct care to clients including observations, treatment, and monitoring. The functions within this job family will vary by level, but may include the following: Develop and/or implement habilitation or treatment plans. Teach or assist in developing client skills related to self-help, play, education, and socialization. Assist and/or provide basic health care for clients, such as checking vital signs and height/weight. The work assigned to positions in this series ranges from basic direct support care to the administrative management of a treatment unit. This position is for Support Care Professional at the

MS Adolescent Center:

Contract Full-Time position on B Shift (2p-10:30p). State Full-Time positions on A Shift (6a-2:30p), B Shift (2p-10:30p), or C Shift (10p-6:30a) Duties for the Support Care Professional in the Residential Living department include:

  • Charts individual behavior and activity.
  • Provides one on one intensive behavioral support and supervision.
  • Directs and participates in recreational and social activities for individuals in accordance with written programs and habilitation plans.
  • Accompanies individuals to activities and programs outside the facility.
  • Performs or assists in the performance of individuals personal hygiene tasks such as bathing, shaving, and brushing teeth.
  • Maintains order in individual care rooms, individual care areas, shower, bathroom, and kitchenette area.
  • Inventories individual clothing.
  • Responding to individuals in crisis.
  • Attends and participates in all related in-service training sessions.
  • Performs related or similar duties as required or assigned.
  • The ability to work well with others, strong communication skills, confidentiality, and the ability to act in a professional manner.
Job Type:
Full-time Pay:

$11.73 – $20.00 per hour Expected hours: 40 per week
