Job Summary:

We are seeking compassionate and dedicated individuals to join our team as Direct Support Professionals. As a Direct Support Professional, you will provide essential care and support to individuals with diverse needs, including those with autism, dementia, and hospice care. Your role will involve assisting with daily living activities, administering medication, and ensuring the overall well-being of our clients.

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct care and support to individuals with diverse needs
• Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, and grooming
• Administer medication according to prescribed schedules and document accordingly
• Monitor vital signs and report any changes or concerns to the appropriate healthcare professionals
• Implement behavior management techniques to promote positive interactions and reduce challenging behaviors
• Engage individuals in social activities and promote community integration
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans
• Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of client progress and any incidents that occur
• Ensure a safe and clean environment for clients

Requirements:

• Previous experience in direct support or related field preferred
• Knowledge of dementia care, social work principles, hospice care, and working with individuals on the autism spectrum
• Ability to administer medication following proper protocols
• First aid certification is a plus
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team
• Physical stamina to perform heavy lifting and assist with mobility as needed
