Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated Peer Support Specialist to support individuals facing mental health and substance use challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide peer support services, sharing lived experiences to offer encouragement and guidance. Assist individuals in setting and achieving recovery-oriented goals related to housing, disability benefits, sobriety, and mental health management. Offer companionship, emotional support, and mentorship to individuals facing challenges. Assist with daily living activities, including light housekeeping, meal preparation, and errands. Facilitate access to community resources, healthcare services, and social support systems. Document services provided in accordance with agency and regulatory guidelines. Collaborate with other healthcare providers, case managers, and community organizations.

Qualifications:

Must have personal experience with mental health or substance use recovery. Must be a certified Peer Support Specialist. Ability to establish trust and build relationships with clients. Strong communication, advocacy, and problem-solving skills. Reliable transportation and willingness to travel within Durham, Henderson, and Chapel Hill.
