The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for the client, ensuring her comfort and safety. Client is a 33 year old female with physical and intellectual disabilities as the result of a genetic disorder. Client is nonverbal, kind and sweet with no behavioral issues. This position requires a female candidate due to personal care involved. Due to allergies a non smoking individual is essential. Responsibilities Client attends day program Monday through Friday from 9am to 3 pm. Pickup client in her accessible van at 3pm. Shift starts at 2:30 and ends 6:30pm/7:00pm weekdays. Weekend hours are typically 4-6 hr shifts and very flexible. Assist client with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and feeding. Provide companionship and emotional support to client, fostering a positive environment. Accompany client on outings. Monitor and document client’ s health status and report any changes to parent/physician. Help with mobility assistance, including transferring client to and from bed and wheelchair using a mechanical lift. Transport client in her wheelchair accessible van Maintain a clean and safe living environment for client. Review and follow client’s Individual Service Plan Monitor Seizures Monitor feeding pump Skills Experience or knowledge in caregiving, particularly in home care preferred. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively. Client is nonverbal. Compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help client improve her quality of life. Ability to work independently.
