Hours:
Saturday-8 am-8pm Sunday-8 am-8 pm Job Summary The Direct Support Professional (DSP) plays a crucial role in providing support and assistance to individuals with disabilities, including those on the autism spectrum. This position involves working closely with clients to help them achieve their personal goals, maintain their independence, and enhance their quality of life. The DSP will implement care plans, monitor patient progress, and ensure that residents’ rights are upheld while fostering a safe and clean environment. Responsibilities Assist individuals with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication management. Implement individualized care plans tailored to each client’s needs and preferences. Monitor clients’ health and well-being, providing patient monitoring to identify any changes or concerns. Support clients in engaging in community activities and social interactions to promote inclusion. Ensure the cleanliness of living spaces and assist clients in maintaining a tidy environment. Advocate for residents’ rights and ensure they are treated with dignity and respect at all times. Lift and assist clients as needed while adhering to safety protocols. Maintain confidentiality of client information in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Skills Experience working with individuals with disabilities, particularly those on the autism spectrum. Strong understanding of care plans and the ability to implement them effectively. Knowledge of resident rights and advocacy practices. Ability to perform patient monitoring with attention to detail. Competence in maintaining a clean living environment for clients. Patience, compassion, and strong interpersonal skills are essential for building rapport with clients.
