Job Description

Personal Care Assistant Alpine Health and Rehabilitation of Asheboro LLC 230 East Presnell Street, Asheboro, NC 27203 Personal Care Assistant’s that assist in smoking area list of duties and expectations: Provide supervision to residents who smoke as deemed necessary by interdisciplinary team Maintain all smoking materials for residents who smoke, e.g. cigarettes, pipes, lighters, lighter fluid, etc. Provide smoking materials to residents during smoking times. Ensure designated smoking area is clean and well kept. Ensure smoking is not permitted while oxygen is in use. Ensure presence of an A-B-C type fire extinguisher and smoking blanket in designated smoking area daily. Also ensures ashtrays in use at designated smoking area meet life safety code. Empties ashtrays as needed. Ensure residents do not share lighted cigarettes with other residents. Reports infraction of smoking policy to their supervisor. Completes required forms and documents as designated by their supervisor.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING, HOWEVER OTHER DUTIES MAY BE ASSIGNED.

Answer residents’ call bell lights Change bed linens, make beds Organize/Declutter Resident Rooms Accompany resident’s and supervise outside visitation Transport residents to and from areas in the facility Assist in resident transportation needs Organize/Clean/Declutter nourishment rooms Pass Ice Pitchers Assist in Resident Smoking area

Shift work may be required. Employee is frequently required to stand, walk, see, use hands or fingers, reach with hands and arms, feel, talk, and hear. OTHER REQUIREMENTS

Participates in company sponsored training to safeguard against improper use and disclosure of resident’s protected health information. Monitors and ensures compliance with company policies, procedures and state and federal law.
