PCA Personal Care Assistant Almareada Home Care Agency 403 Royall Avenue, Goldsboro, NC 27534 Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide essential support to patients, ensuring their comfort and well-being in various settings, including hospitals, clinics, and home care environments. This role is vital in assisting individuals with daily living activities while promoting their independence and dignity. Responsibilities Assist patients with personal hygiene tasks such as bathing, grooming, and dressing. Support patients with mobility and transfers, ensuring safety and comfort. Monitor and document patient vital signs and report any changes to nursing staff. Provide companionship and emotional support to patients, fostering a positive environment. Help with meal preparation and feeding as necessary. Maintain cleanliness and organization of patient areas. Assist with basic medical tasks under the supervision of healthcare professionals, including those in medical-surgical, inpatient, or emergency medicine settings. Engage with patients in therapeutic activities that enhance their physical and mental well-being. Qualifications Previous experience as a Personal Care Assistant or in a related healthcare role is preferred. Knowledge of medical-surgical practices, geriatrics, hospital medicine, or clinic operations is advantageous. Familiarity with Level I or Level II Trauma Centers is a plus. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Excellent communication skills and a strong ability to empathize with patients’ needs. Certification in CPR/First Aid is preferred but not required; training may be provided. Must be able to pass background checks as required by healthcare regulations.
