Direct Support Professional Sullivan Directed Home Program 35 Northrup Drive, Brentwood, NH 03833 Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional (DSP) to join our team. The DSP plays a crucial role in providing support to individuals with disabilities or special needs, helping them lead fulfilling lives while promoting independence and dignity. This position involves working closely with clients in various settings, including home community care and assisted living environments. Duties Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication management. Implement individualized care plans tailored to each client’s needs and preferences. Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the quality of life for clients. Facilitate social interactions and community engagement by accompanying clients on outings or activities. Monitor and document changes in clients’ conditions and report any concerns to the appropriate personnel. Maintain a safe and clean environment for clients, ensuring adherence to health and safety regulations. Qualifications Previous experience in direct support or caregiving roles is preferred but not mandatory. Knowledge of CPR and First Aid is highly desirable; certification may be required. Familiarity with care plans and the ability to follow them accurately. Experience with Augmentative Communication devices a plus. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and team members. A compassionate attitude towards individuals with disabilities or special needs is essential. Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as needed is a plus.
