Companion & Activity Support Location:

Morristown, NJ We are seeking a kind, outgoing, and self-motivated Direct Support Professional (DSP) or Paraprofessional to provide companionship and activity support to a young man with muscular dystrophy who uses a power wheelchair and lives at home with his family. The Ideal candidate will be someone with the following: A Background and experience working with individuals with special needs. (minimum 1 year) Must be able to engage this individual in various activities, games, etc. . and conversation. Must like the outdoors. Some availability Friday or Saturday nights a plus.

This Role Will Include:

Offering companionship and emotional support Assisting and participating in at-home activities and therapies Helping with light caregiving (dressing, grooming, meals, toileting) Driving to and attending community activities, events, or programs (e.g., game nights, social outings, therapies) Encouraging independence and active participation in daily life Providing supervision and support to ensure safety and comfort

Driving Activities:

Staff will need to drive this individual to evening activities using the families accessible van.

Part-Time Pay Rate:

$25.00 per hour

Schedule:

Expected hours between 10-25 hours per week Shift availability: Monday through Friday 5:00 pm – 10:00 pm ( 3 days, flexible) Weekend Daytime hours and/or Weekend Evening hours (FLEXIBLE)

Mandatory Requirements:

Candidates must clear a background check and drug screening. Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record No smoking permitted on property.
