Summary As a Direct Support Professional at Autism Community Services, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with autism in their daily activities. This position is essential for promoting independence and enhancing the quality of life for our clients.

Available Shifts:

Saturday 9:00am-5:00pm (Mandatory) Monday and/or Wednesday 9:00am-5:00pm

Duties:

Transferring client from wheelchair to toilet and/or vehicle. Provide direct care and support to individual with developmental disabilities Assist with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication administration Implement behavior management strategies to promote positive behaviors and reduce challenging behaviors Support individual in developing and maintaining social skills and relationships Ensure the rights and dignity of individuals are respected and upheld Applicant must be comfortable assisting clients with hygiene/toileting, mealtimes, and other daily living activities. Applicant must be comfortable transporting client into the community Applicant must be willing to build a relationship with the client, must take client out into the community.

High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or certification in a related field is a plus Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or mental health challenges preferred, this is a hands-on case Must have knowledge of autism spectrum disorder and be comfortable with applying behavior support (managing aggression/self-injury, elopement) Ability to drive and possess a valid driver’s license First aid and CPR certification is a plus Strong communication and interpersonal skills
