Direct Support Professional (DSP) Position Available In Somerset, New Jersey

Direct Support Professional (DSP) Autism Community Services Franklin Park, NJ 08823 Monday-Friday 8:00 a.m.- 2:00 p.m.

Duties:

Transport client to various activities Assist the client at home and in the community Provide direct care and support to individual with developmental disabilities Assist with light food prep in the morning Implement behavior management strategies to promote positive behaviors Support individual in developing and maintaining social skills and relationships Assist client with making bed, laundry, and light cleaning Ensure the rights and dignity of individuals are respected and upheld Applicant must be comfortable transporting client into the community Applicant must be willing to build a relationship with the client, must take client out into the community.

High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or certification in a related field is a plus 1-2 Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or mental health challenges preferred Must have your own vehicle Ability to drive and possess a valid driver’s license First aid and CPR certification is a plus Strong communication and interpersonal skills
