PCA Personal Care Assistant for Dementia Fulton Family Fulton, NY 13069 Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide essential support to a good-natured elderly man with dementia in need of assistance in our home. This role requires a nurturing attitude, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with dementia needs. Ideal candidates will be able to work any time between 10 am to 6 pm, 4-6 hour shifts a few times a week, but shift times and days are flexible. Most important aspect is careful supervision, safety and care of the individual. Duties Assist with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, dressing, and grooming. Provide companionship and emotional support Assist with mobility and lifting as needed, ensuring their safety at all times. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations while providing care. Work collaboratively with family members, healthcare providers, and other caregivers. Qualifications Experience working with individuals with dementia or other disabilities is preferred. Knowledge of first aid procedures is a plus. Familiarity with home community care practices is beneficial. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and their families. Ability to lift clients safely and assist them in mobility tasks. A compassionate nature with a commitment to providing high-quality personal care. Certification or training related to personal care assistance is advantageous but not required.
