As a Direct Support Professional, you will have the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of individuals with developmental disabilities.

Duties:
  • Provide direct care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities, including children with autism.
  • Assist with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and meal preparation.
  • Administer medication and monitor health conditions under the supervision of a nurse.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment for individuals in accordance with established protocols.
  • Drive individuals to appointments, community outings, and recreational activities.
  • Implement behavior management techniques to promote positive behaviors and reduce challenging behaviors.
  • Provide first aid and respond to emergencies as needed.
  • Document and maintain accurate records of daily activities, progress, and incidents.
  • Adhere to HIPAA regulations and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
Skills:
  • Experience in childcare or working with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred.
  • Knowledge of medication administration procedures and protocols.
  • Ability to clean and maintain a safe environment.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with individuals, families, and team members.
  • Familiarity with behavior management techniques and strategies.
  • First aid certification is a plus.
  • Ability to follow systems and protocols for documentation and reporting.
