Home Health Care Aide Jolie parcher Amagansett, NY 11930 Looking for an experienced caregiver to work with my mom ling term in shifts if 2 weeks on and 2 weeks off. It’s a very full time job when you’re there so we split the month between 2 aides. My mom has Parkinson’s and is a very creative, social and delightful woman. The job requires an experienced aide who can physically support my mom in all of her daily movement- waking, getting up and down, in and out of chairs and shower, bathing etc. she also uses a walker but does better sometimes walking with a person directly. My dad is in the home as well but needs no medical assistance. The job involves the usual home tasks; cooking meals, tidying up, staying up to date with ordering and household supplies and my mom’s medications and being a kind companion to my mom. They go to Sarasota Florida from january to April and the aides take turns in shifts as they decide between them with being with my mom there. Job Summary The Home Health Care Aide plays a vital role in providing compassionate and personalized care to individuals in their homes. This position involves assisting clients with daily living activities, ensuring their comfort, safety, and overall well-being. The ideal candidate will have experience working with individuals with disabilities and a strong understanding of medical terminology. Duties Assist clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, grooming, and dressing. Provide catheter care and support for individuals requiring specialized assistance. Help clients with mobility and transferring to ensure safety and comfort. Prepare nutritious meals and assist with cooking as needed. Perform light housekeeping duties including laundry to maintain a clean living environment. Support clients with memory care strategies to enhance cognitive function and daily living skills. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to implement care plans effectively. Document client progress and report any changes in health or behavior to appropriate personnel. Skills Experience working with people with developmental disabilities is highly desirable.. Strong interpersonal skills to build rapport with clients and their families. Ability to perform long-term care tasks with patience and empathy. Knowledge of systems related to home health care operations. Competence in assisting clients with various needs while promoting independence. Excellent organizational skills for managing multiple tasks efficiently.
