Direct Support Professional Tax Boost, LLC Monticello, NY 12701 Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to provide essential support to an individual with autism. This role is crucial in promoting independence and enhancing the quality of life for those we serve. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to providing high-quality care and support in various settings, including long-term care facilities and home care environments. Duties Trained in dealing with autism spectrum disorders. Willing to work with a team to support adult individual in developing independent living skills. Goal of assisting adult individual with transitions in order for client to eventually volunteer within the community. Ideal candidate will have education and/or behavioral health experience in order to assist in developing program based on client level of interest and comprehension. Training will be provided, experience working with the autistic population is required. Assist individuals with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication management. Support clients in achieving their personal goals and maintaining their independence. Monitor and document vital signs and health status, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Provide companionship and emotional support, fostering a positive relationship with client. Maintain a clean and safe environment for client, adhering to health and safety protocols. Collaborate with healthcare professionals, social workers, and family members to develop individualized care plans. Knowledgeable in managing behaviors, including aggressive tendencies. Experience Previous experience in direct support, long-term care, or home care settings is preferred. Familiarity with CPR techniques and basic first aid is a plus. Knowledge of social work principles and practices is beneficial. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and their families. A commitment to maintaining client confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA standards. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about making a difference in the lives of others while providing essential support services.
