YAI is hiring Per Diem Direct Support Professionals (DSP) to work in several of our Westchester County locations. DSPs work closely with people of all ages who have intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD). We are looking for compassionate and reliable people to join our team of dynamic individuals who every day choose to make a difference in the lives of others. Candidates with integrity, who possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and who have qualities such as patience, empathy, and kindness are eligible for consideration. All job-specific knowledge, strategies, and skills will be provided in YAI’s “best-in-class” paid training program.

As a Per Diem DSP, you have the ability to choose open shifts that align with your availability. By using a mobile scheduling app, selecting the shifts you want and keeping track of your work schedule is easy. A commitment to working 24 hours a month and actively engaging in ongoing training requirements is all that’s needed to start your journey.

Key Responsibilities+ To provide direct care services as needed. This includes, but is not limited to, the provision of counseling, training in ADLs (Assisted Daily Living skills), assistance with personal care, medical, dietary, social, sexual, recreational, financial, habilitative and other needs within the program.+ Ensure the health, safety, and wellness of the people we support.+ Build and maintain positive relationships.+ Assist the people we support in maximizing their strengths, interests, and abilities through teaching, self-advocacy, and emotional support.+ Facilitate community integration, recreational activities, and socialization.

Qualifications and Requirements+ High School Diploma or GED preferred+ Work or life experience in the I/DD field is a plus (not mandatory)+ Ability to complete three to five weekdays of paid New York State-mandated OPWDD training during normal business hours.
