Job Description:

We are seeking compassionate and dedicated individuals to join our team as In-Home and Community Support Workers. As part of this role, you will provide essential assistance to individuals with intellectual disabilities, aiding them in various aspects of daily living and community integration. Depending on the individual’s needs, responsibilities may encompass in-home & community support, companion services, community integration, homemaker/chore services, and respite services.

Key Responsibilities:

(Depending on case(s), may include some or all duties. Provide personalized support to individuals with intellectual disabilities in their homes and within the community. Assist with activities of daily living(ADL’S), including but not limited to personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication reminders, if needed. Foster companionship and engagement through recreational activities and social outings tailored to the individual’s preferences and abilities. Facilitate community integration by accompanying individuals to appointments, events, and recreational activities. Encourage and assist in building social connections and relationships within the community. Maintain a safe and supportive environment conducive to the well-being and independence of the individuals served. Perform light housekeeping tasks and assist with chores as needed. Aid with grocery shopping, meal planning, and preparation to ensure individuals have access to nutritious meals. Offer respite services to caregivers, providing temporary relief and support, if needed. Maintain accurate shift note documentation daily. Effectively communicate and address individual concerns with the supervisor. Actively participate in general staff meetings (held virtually or via phone). Adhere to instructions provided by the supervisor during crisis situations. Serve as a role model by demonstrating appropriate language, attire, and conduct. Must successfully complete 24 hours of annual trainings a year. a Undertake any other necessary duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Requirements:

High school diploma or G.E.D At least 18 years of age. Previous experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities preferred. Must possess a valid driver’s license and have your own reliable vehicle. Must be able to transport individuals as needed and must be comfortable driving individuals in your vehicle. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Patience, empathy, and a compassionate demeanor. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Flexibility to adapt to the changing needs of the individuals supported. Clear background checks Again, MUST

Working Conditions:

The role may involve varying work hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to meet the needs of the individuals being supported. Work environments may include individual’s homes, community centers, and recreational venues. Physical demands (may or may not) include assisting with mobility, lifting, and providing personal care as necessary.

  • 8hrs week) +4 to 5 (In-Home/Community) hours week
  • Family also interested in Respite Care, when needed
Shifts :

2 Weekday Evening Shifts

  • 6:00
  • 10:00 pm Saturday and/or Sunday
  • 11:00 to 4:00 pm or 11:00 to 5:00 pm
Experience:

Caregiving and intellectual disability: 3

  • 4 years (Preferred) Shift availability: Weekend Shift (Preferred) Night Shift (Preferred)
