Personal Care Assistant/Caregiver Lagom Kutztown, PA 19530 Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Personal Care Assistant to provide support for an individual with limited mobility. This role is essential in enhancing the quality of life for our clients by assisting them in daily activities, promoting independence, and ensuring their well-being. The ideal candidate will have experience in caregiving and a strong understanding of the needs of individuals in home and community care settings. Having a reliable personal vehicle is preferred, as public transportation options in this area are limited.

Schedule:

This position is for 12-16 hours per week with a flexible weekday afternoon schedule. Shifts can be arranged to fit your availability — either two 6-hour shifts or three 4-hour shifts, based on what works best for you and the client’s needs. Duties Assist clients with daily living activities, light, housekeeping and grocery shopping. Monitor vital signs and provide patient monitoring as needed to ensure health and safety. Support clients in social interactions and community engagement to promote social skills and independence. Maintain accurate records of client progress and report any changes in condition to appropriate personnel. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations while handling sensitive client information. Collaborate with healthcare professionals, social workers, and family members to develop individualized care plans. Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the overall well-being of clients. Assist with transportation needs for appointments or community activities as required. Experience Previous experience in caregiving or working with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred. Familiarity with home community care practices and assisted living environments is advantageous. Knowledge of vital signs monitoring and patient care techniques is beneficial. Understanding of HIPAA regulations and commitment to maintaining client confidentiality. Background in social work or experience in a group home setting is a plus. Strong interpersonal skills, patience, and empathy are essential for success in this role.
