Direct Support Professional/Caregiver Skurka Household Newtown, PA 18940 Job Overview We are seeking to hire compassionate, dedicated support staff to work in home and in the community with an individual in the Newtown (Bucks County) area. The individual requires complete physical assistance in home and in the community. We currently are looking to fill full-time and PRN positions for 13-hour shifts which are scheduled 9:00am

• 10:00pm. This position does require weekend and holiday availability. This position is ideal for someone who:

Responsibilities Support the individual in living an Everyday Life by working to improve their quality of life Redirect the individual safely and effectively as needed Cultivate feelings of safety and security for the individual Model positive behavior and communication Assist with mobility, eating, bathing, dressing, personal hygiene, accessing the community, interacting within the community, etc. Encourage independence with daily living tasks and desired activities Consistently engage and communicate with the individual Maintain accurate documentation Collaborate with family members and other support staff to best meet the needs of the individual Qualifications Experience with gestural communication Experience supporting those with chronic conditions Knowledge of medical care Knowledge of behavioral health Experience and Education Requirements A minimum of 3 years of experience working in a support, direct care and/or home health role in addition to at least 1 of the following education/licensure/certification requirements:

• A bachelor’s degree in psychology, sociology, gerontology or education OR
• An active LPN or RN license OR
• An active CNA certification OR
• An active NADD certification OR
• An active RBT certification Job Requirements Ability to lift up to 120 pounds A valid driver’s license Reliable transportation CPR and First Aid certification Up-to-date flu shot and
