Direct Support Professional (DSP) Achievable Home Care LLC Wayne, PA 19087 Job Overview The Direct Support Professional (DSP) plays a vital role in providing assistance and support to individuals with developmental disabilities or other special needs. This position requires a compassionate and dedicated individual who is committed to enhancing the quality of life for those they serve. The DSP will work closely with clients to implement care plans, assist with daily living activities, and promote independence in a safe and supportive environment. Duties Implement individualized care plans tailored to each client’s needs and preferences. Provide patient care, including assistance with personal hygiene, grooming, and dressing. Prepare nutritious meals according to dietary restrictions and preferences. Assist clients with mobility, which may include heavy lifting or transferring individuals as needed. Maintain a clean and safe living environment for clients by performing light housekeeping duties. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect client confidentiality. Administer first aid when necessary and respond appropriately to emergencies. Engage clients in social activities and encourage participation in community events to promote socialization and independence. Document daily activities, progress, and any changes in the client’s condition as required. Experience Candidates should possess the following skills and experience: Previous experience in home health or long-term care settings is preferred but not mandatory. Familiarity with care plans and patient care practices. Ability to cook nutritious meals that cater to individual dietary needs. Knowledge of first aid procedures is advantageous. Strong cleaning skills to maintain a hygienic environment. A compassionate demeanor with excellent communication skills to effectively interact with clients and their families.
