Direct Support Professional Bright Life Pathways Erie, PA Job Details Part-time $14 – $16 an hour 1 day ago Qualifications Working with people with developmental disabilities Working with people with disabilities High school diploma or GED Driver’s License Direct support Care plans Entry level Under 1 year Full Job Description Overview The Direct Support Professional (DSP) at Bright Life Pathways plays a vital role in supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities and autism in achieving greater independence, community involvement, and an enhanced quality of life. This position is ideal for compassionate, reliable, and mission-driven individuals who are committed to helping others thrive in home and community-based settings. The DSP will work one-on-one with individuals, supporting them in their daily activities, personal goals, and social engagement while ensuring the safety, dignity, and well-being of each person served. Duties Support individuals with activities of daily living such as hygiene, meal preparation, mobility, and household tasks as outlined in their service plans. Provide community integration support by accompanying individuals to appointments, recreational outings, volunteer work, and other community activities. Foster independence by encouraging skill development, choice-making, and self-advocacy. Maintain a safe, clean, and supportive environment both in the home and during community outings. Drive individuals to and from locations using a personal vehicle, ensuring safety and timeliness. Complete daily progress notes, incident reports, and documentation in compliance with ODP and agency requirements. Communicate regularly with supervisors and participate in team meetings to review goals and service outcomes. Adhere to all Bright Life Pathways policies, as well as HIPAA and ODP guidelines and regulations. Skills and Requirements A genuine commitment to supporting individuals with disabilities in living fulfilling, independent lives. Strong interpersonal skills, patience, and the ability to build trusting relationships with individuals and families. Basic knowledge of intellectual and developmental disabilities and person-centered support practices. Ability to follow individualized support plans and maintain accurate documentation. Valid driver’s license, access to a reliable vehicle, and current auto insurance. High school diploma or GED required; prior experience in human services or direct support is preferred but not required. Willingness to complete all required training, including ODP orientation and annual certifications.

$14.00 – $16.00 per hour Expected hours: No more than 15 per week
