DSP (Direct Support Professional) Planet Home healthcare Myerstown, PA 17067 Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to provide essential support to individuals with developmental disabilities in various settings, including home community care and assisted living environments. The ideal candidate will be responsible for promoting the independence and well-being of clients through personalized care and assistance, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment. Duties Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication administration. Provide patient monitoring to ensure the health and safety of individuals under your care. Support individuals in social interactions and community engagement to enhance their quality of life. Facilitate activities that promote skill development and independence among clients. Lift and transfer clients as needed while ensuring their comfort and safety. Collaborate with healthcare professionals, family members, and social workers to develop and implement individualized care plans. Maintain accurate records of client progress and report any changes in condition or behavior. Experience Previous experience in hospice care or working with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred. Familiarity with patient monitoring techniques and medication administration practices is beneficial. Experience in assisted living or home community care settings is a plus. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with clients and their families. A background in social work or related fields can enhance your candidacy.
