Direct Support Professional Attentive Care Services Emmaus, PA 18098 Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to individuals with developmental disabilities, helping them achieve greater independence and improve their quality of life. Your work will involve direct interaction with clients in various settings, including group homes and community environments. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to caregiving and a desire to make a positive impact in the lives of those they support. Responsibilities Assist individuals with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and household tasks. Provide direct support in community integration activities and social engagement. Monitor and document client progress, behaviors, and any changes in health status. Facilitate communication between clients and their families or guardians. Implement individualized care plans as directed by healthcare professionals. Ensure the safety and well-being of clients at all times through patient observation and proactive intervention. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to enhance client care and support services. Experience Previous experience in caregiving or direct support roles is preferred, particularly with individuals who have developmental disabilities. Familiarity with home health care, nursing home environments, or group home settings is advantageous. Skills in meal preparation and assisting clients with daily tasks are essential. A background in nursing or related healthcare fields is beneficial but not required. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with clients are crucial for success in this role.
