Direct Support Professional All Needs Home Care Agency Philadelphia, PA 19124 Job Overview As a Direct Support Professional, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for individuals with developmental disabilities. Your primary responsibility will be to provide compassionate care and support in both home and community settings. You will work closely with clients to promote their independence, dignity, and well-being while ensuring their rights are respected and working towards achieving set outcome. Duties
- Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication management.
- Must be willing and able to drive individual in personal vehicle throughout the community as needed.
- Implement individualized support plans tailored to each client’s unique needs and preferences.
- Support clients in developing life skills and achieving personal goals through guidance and encouragement.
- Foster a safe and supportive environment by adhering to resident rights and promoting positive interactions.
- Provide companionship and engage clients in recreational activities that enhance their socialization and enjoyment.
- Maintain accurate documentation of client progress, incidents, and any changes in behavior or health status.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, family members, and support staff to ensure comprehensive care delivery.
- Participate in training sessions related to first aid, caregiving techniques, and best practices for working with individuals with disabilities. Qualifications
- Experience in home care or group home settings is preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of caregiving principles and practices related to individuals with disabilities is highly valued.
- Familiarity with resident rights and the ability to advocate for clients effectively.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and trust with clients.
- Physical capability to lift clients as needed and assist them in mobility tasks.
- Certification in first aid or willingness to obtain certification upon hire is a plus.
- A compassionate demeanor, patience, and a commitment to providing high-quality care are essential for success in this role.
