PCA Personal Care Assistant Wellfit Home Care LLC Lexington, SC 29073 Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide essential support to patients in a healthcare setting. The ideal candidate will have experience in various medical environments, including Level I and Level II Trauma Centers, PICU, Emergency medicine, and Medical-surgical units. This role is crucial in ensuring the comfort and well-being of patients while assisting with their daily activities and healthcare needs. Responsibilities Assist patients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting. Provide support for patients in a clinic or hospital setting, ensuring their comfort and safety at all times. Monitor patient vital signs and report any changes to the nursing staff. Help with mobility by assisting patients in moving from one location to another within the facility. Maintain cleanliness and organization of patient areas, including beds and equipment. Collaborate with healthcare professionals in a teaching hospital environment to deliver high-quality care. Participate in patient education initiatives as directed by nursing staff to promote health awareness. Document patient care activities accurately and timely in accordance with facility protocols. Requirements Previous experience as a Personal Care Assistant or in a similar role within a healthcare setting is preferred. Familiarity with various medical environments such as OR, inpatient units, clinics, and trauma centers is desirable. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams. Compassionate demeanor with a genuine desire to help others. Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays as needed. Certification or training in personal care assistance or related fields is a plus but not mandatory.
