PCA Personal Care Assistant Carolinas Caregivers Blythewood, SC 29016 Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide essential support to individuals in need of assistance with daily living activities. The ideal candidate will have experience in medical-surgical, geriatrics, outpatient care, or related fields, and will be committed to enhancing the quality of life for our clients. This role is crucial in ensuring that our clients receive the care and attention they deserve in a safe and comfortable environment. Responsibilities Assist clients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation. Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive environment. Monitor and document clients’ health status and report any changes to the healthcare team. Help with mobility and transportation needs, ensuring clients can attend appointments or engage in community activities. Maintain a clean and safe living environment for clients. Support clients with medication management as directed by healthcare professionals. Collaborate effectively with other healthcare staff including nurses and therapists to ensure comprehensive care. Participate in training sessions to enhance skills related to care for specific populations such as those in PICU or OR settings. Qualifications Previous experience as a Personal Care Assistant or in a similar caregiving role is preferred. Knowledge of medical-surgical practices, geriatrics, outpatient care, or hospital medicine is highly desirable. Familiarity with working in a teaching hospital or Level II Trauma Center is an advantage. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and their families. Compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others improve their quality of life. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in various settings including clinics and home environments.
