PCA Personal Care Assistant Good People Home Care LLC Columbia, SC 29201 Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to join our in-home care team. The ideal candidate will provide essential support to patients in various settings, primarily in the clients home. This role is crucial for ensuring the comfort and well-being of our clients in the comfort of their home. Responsibilities Assist patients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation. Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the quality of life for patients. Monitor patient health by observing vital signs and reporting any changes to nursing staff. Help with mobility assistance, including transferring patients to and from beds or wheelchairs. Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients by adhering to hygiene protocols. Document patient care activities accurately in accordance with facility policies. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement personalized care plans. Requirements Previous experience in a healthcare setting is preferred. Training will be provided. Familiarity with medical terminology related to hospital medicine, emergency medicine, or trauma care is a plus. Strong communication skills to interact compassionately with patients and their families. Must be able to follow instructions accurately and maintain patient confidentiality at all times. Certification as a Personal Care Assistant or similar qualification is desirable but not mandatory. Ability to lift and move patients safely as required.
