Personal Care Assistant A Carolina Homecare Agency LLC Columbia, SC 29205 Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide essential support to individuals in need of assistance. The ideal candidate will have experience in various caregiving settings, including nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and/or home care environments. This role is vital in enhancing the quality of life for our clients by ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being. Duties Assist clients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation. Provide companionship and engage clients in social activities to promote mental and emotional well-being. Support individuals with disabilities by providing personalized care tailored to their specific needs. Help clients with mobility issues, including transferring them safely from bed to wheelchair or other locations. Medication reminders and assist with any medical equipment as necessary. Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients, ensuring that all areas are tidy and free from hazards. Communicate effectively with family members and healthcare professionals regarding the client’s care plan. Skills Experience in nursing home, home care, or assisted living settings is preferred. Familiarity with patient care techniques and the ability to transfer safely. Proficiency in meal preparation and/or cooking nutritious meals for clients if applicable. Understanding of social work principles to foster positive relationships with clients. Strong interpersonal skills to build rapport with clients and their families.
