PCA Personal Care Assistant 3.9 3.9 out of 5 stars Big Sandy, TN 38221 Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide essential support to individuals in need of assistance with daily living activities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in healthcare, particularly in emergency medicine, hospital medicine, and inpatient care settings. This role is vital in ensuring the comfort and well-being of our clients, allowing them to maintain their independence while receiving the necessary care. Duties Assist clients with personal hygiene tasks, including bathing, grooming, and dressing. Provide mobility support, helping clients move safely within their home or facility. Monitor and record vital signs as needed, ensuring any changes are communicated to healthcare professionals. Aid clients with meal preparation and feeding when necessary. Offer companionship and emotional support to enhance the quality of life for clients. Assist with medication reminders and ensure adherence to prescribed regimens. Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients by performing light housekeeping duties. Collaborate with healthcare teams in settings such as clinics, medical-surgical units, or Level II Trauma Centers to deliver comprehensive care. Qualifications Previous experience as a Personal Care Assistant or in a related healthcare role is preferred. Knowledge of emergency medicine practices is highly desirable. Familiarity with working in teaching hospitals, PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit), OR (Operating Room), or similar environments is a plus. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and their families. Compassionate nature with a commitment to providing high-quality care. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team within various healthcare settings such as inpatient facilities or outpatient clinics.
