Direct Support Professional/Caregiver Enlightenment Transitional Living, LLC Carroll County, TN Direct Support Professional (DSP)

Location:

Shelby, Fayette, Tipton, and surrounding counties Job Overview Enlightenment Transitional Living, LLC is seeking compassionate, reliable, and motivated Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to join our growing team. As a DSP, you will provide essential, person-centered support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in their homes and community settings. This role plays a critical part in promoting independence, dignity, and quality of life.

Note:

This position requires reliable transportation and the ability to transport clients to appointments, activities, and community outings.

Responsibilities Client Care:

Assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and meal preparation.

Companionship:

Foster trusting relationships through active listening and meaningful conversation.

Mobility Assistance:

Provide safe support with transfers and ambulation using proper techniques and equipment.

Medication Support:

Offer medication reminders and assistance with administration as needed.

Household Support:

Help with light housekeeping, laundry, and grocery errands.

Emotional Support:

Offer empathy, encouragement, and a supportive presence.

Safety Monitoring:

Identify and report any hazards while ensuring a safe, clean, and respectful environment.

Documentation:

Accurately record services provided, client observations, and any changes in condition.

Transportation:

Transport clients to appointments, errands, and community activities using your own vehicle.

Heavy Lifting:

Assist with physical transfers or mobility tasks when necessary. Requirements Must be 18 years of age or older High school diploma or GED required Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and current auto insurance (required for client transport) Must pass TBI/FBI fingerprint-based background checks Clear checks from: Tennessee Sex Offender Registry National Sex Offender Public Website (NSOPW) TN Dept. of Health Abuse Registry National Criminal Database (NICS) Driving Record (if applicable)

Preferred Experience & Skills:

Experience in home care, caregiving, or working with individuals with disabilities (not required) Familiarity with autism, memory care, dementia, or behavioral health Strong work ethic, compassion, and reliability Flexible availability (some evenings/weekends may be required) Why Join Us?
