Direct support professional Tennessee self directed services Mount Carmel, TN 37645 Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to provide essential support to individuals with disabilities or special needs in their daily lives. This role involves assisting clients with personal care, daily activities, and fostering their independence in a safe and nurturing environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for those they serve. Duties Provide direct support to clients in various settings, including home care and long-term care facilities. Assist individuals with personal hygiene, grooming, and dressing. Monitor and document vital signs as needed, ensuring the health and safety of clients. Help clients engage in social activities and promote community involvement. Maintain a clean and organized living environment for clients. Adhere to HIPAA regulations to protect client confidentiality and privacy. Collaborate with healthcare professionals, social workers, and family members to develop individualized care plans. Lift and transfer clients safely using appropriate techniques and equipment. Qualifications Experience in direct support or home care is preferred. Knowledge of long-term care practices is a plus. Certification in CPR and firstaid are required (in-person through American Heart Association) Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to assist clients compassionately. Familiarity with basic health monitoring techniques, including taking vital signs. Ability to maintain a clean environment and adhere to hygiene standards. Understanding of HIPAA regulations regarding patient confidentiality.
