This position involves working closely with clients to enhance their quality of life through compassionate care, assistance with daily activities, and fostering independence. The DSP will be responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of clients while promoting their dignity and respect. Responsibilities Provide direct support and assistance to individuals with disabilities in daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and household tasks. Assist clients in developing and maintaining life skills that promote independence. Engage clients in social, recreational, and therapeutic activities to enhance their physical and emotional well-being. Observe and document client behavior and progress, reporting any changes or concerns to the appropriate personnel. Support clients with mobility needs, including heavy lifting when necessary. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to implement individualized care plans effectively. Maintain a safe and clean environment for clients, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a trusting relationship. Skills Proficient in caregiving techniques and practices tailored for individuals with disabilities or those requiring long-term care. Experience in patient observation to identify changes in behavior or health status. Ability to assist clients with physical tasks, including heavy lifting as needed. Knowledge of direct support practices, hospice care, and memory care strategies is preferred. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and team members. Compassionate attitude towards working with people with disabilities, demonstrating patience and empathy. Culinary skills for meal preparation are a plus. This role is essential for creating a supportive environment that empowers individuals while ensuring their needs are met with dignity and respect.

Job Types:

$12.00 – $15.00 per hour Expected hours: 12 – 40 per week
