Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide essential support to individuals in need of assistance with daily living activities. This role is crucial in enhancing the quality of life for our clients, ensuring their comfort and well-being. The ideal candidate will have experience in various healthcare settings, including outpatient, inpatient, and trauma centers, and will possess a strong commitment to providing high-quality care. Responsibilities Assist clients with personal hygiene tasks such as bathing, grooming, and dressing. Help with mobility and transferring clients as needed. Support clients with meal preparation and feeding when necessary. Monitor and document clients’ health status, reporting any changes to the supervising nurse or healthcare provider. Provide companionship and engage clients in social activities to promote mental well-being. Assist with medication reminders and ensure adherence to prescribed health regimens. Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients by performing light housekeeping duties. Collaborate with healthcare professionals in various settings such as clinics, medical-surgical units, emergency medicine departments, geriatrics, and teaching hospitals. Qualifications Previous experience as a Personal Care Assistant or in a similar role is preferred. Familiarity with healthcare environments including Level I and Level II Trauma Centers is a plus. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and their families. Compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others. Ability to work independently while also being part of a team-oriented environment. Basic understanding of medical terminology and procedures related to personal care is beneficial. Certification in CPR or First Aid is advantageous but not required at the time of application.
