Direct Support Professional Serene Path Home Care Loudon, TN 37774 Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support and care to individuals with developmental disabilities, including those on the autism spectrum. Your primary focus will be to enhance their quality of life by assisting with daily activities, promoting independence, and ensuring their safety and well-being. Responsibilities Assist individuals with personal care tasks, including bathing, grooming, and dressing. Monitor vital signs and report any changes in health status to appropriate personnel. Support individuals in daily living activities such as meal preparation, cleaning, and household management. Engage clients in recreational activities and social interactions to promote community involvement. Provide patient monitoring to ensure safety and well-being during all activities. Assist with heavy lifting as needed for mobility or transfers of clients. Maintain a clean and organized environment for clients, ensuring all areas are safe and accessible. Document daily activities and progress notes accurately to track client development. Requirements Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred. Knowledge of long-term care practices is a plus. Ability to perform patient care tasks effectively while maintaining dignity and respect for clients. Familiarity with vital signs monitoring techniques is beneficial. Strong communication skills to interact effectively with clients, families, and team members. Physical capability to perform heavy lifting and assist clients with mobility needs.
