The Museum consists of the Pink Palace Museum, the Lichterman Nature Center, the Coon Creek Science Center, and other historical properties.   • Provide daily care, feeding, cleaning, and enrichment for a variety of reptiles, amphibians, fish, mammals, birds, and invertebrates.
  • Maintain safe and clean habitats and enclosures.
  • Monitor health and behavior of animals, report concerns promptly and appropriately.
  • Maintain records in a timely and accurate manner for all husbandry, health, and facility tasks.
  • Work closely with other staff, volunteers, and interns to ensure all animal care, education, and facility work is completed.
  • Ensure that all animal care areas and public spaces are organized, well-maintained, and create a clean and welcoming environment for visitors.
  • Present daily interpretive talks, interact with and educate visitors, and assist with programming.
  • Complete other tasks and duties as assigned by Supervisor.
  • Learn and assist with other elements of daily Lichterman Nature Center tasks including, but not limited to; trail management and maintenance, plant propagation and garden management, front desk management (answering phones, assisting visitors, completing ticket and merchandise purchases, etc.), and other duties as assigned. Range of Experience
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Ability to work up to 28 hours a week, including availability on weekends.
  • Basic knowledge of local wildlife, biology, ecology, etc.
  • Open, flexible, positive attitude, ready and willing to learn.
  • Excellent multitasking, time management, and communication skills.
  • Punctual, detail-oriented, professional, dependable.

Compensation The salary for this position is $15 per hour. Compensation is commensurate with experience and abilities. The Museum offers a full range of benefits, including health care, vacation and sick leave, 401k with a 5% match, and death and disability insurance. The Museum also offers life, dental and vision insurance.
