JOB SUMMARY
Provide general assistance to technologists and pathologists to ensure smooth work flow for the entire department.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree in a chemical or biological science preferred.
JOB RELATIONSHIPS
Reports directly to Laboratory Supervisor
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Lifting up to 20 lbs. occasionally Frequently ascend/descend stairs

ADMINISTRATIVE
Change, load, rotate, clean and maintain processors. Change, load, rotate, clean and maintain staining instrumentation. Change, load, and maintain coverslipper. Compare slides to blocks to ensure case numbers are correct and tissue matches. Compare slides to requisition forms to ensure case numbers are correct and tissue matches. Restock supplies as needed. Dispose of hazardous waste according to procedure. Must adhere to all department protocols and procedures. Must be reliable, dependable and have an excellent attendance history. Must be a team player. Other duties as assigned.
PROFESSIONAL
Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task. Ability to deal effectively and professionally with others. Working knowledge of office equipment.
