Job Description:
Griffiths Prince & Associates is seeking experienced Medical Technologists (MTs/MLTs) and Phlebotomists to provide services at the Central Alabama VA Health Care System in Montgomery, AL. This is a full-time, one-year contract opportunity serving Veterans with the highest standards of clinical care.
Key Responsibilities:
Medical Technologist / Technician (Generalist) Perform testing across all areas of the
Clinical Laboratory:
Chemistry, Blood Bank, Hematology, Immunology, Urinalysis, and preferably Microbiology. Ensure accurate and timely specimen analysis, maintain lab equipment, and follow lab protocols. Work closely with VA staff under facility Medical Staff By-Laws and supervision. Phlebotomist Draw blood from inpatients and outpatients while ensuring proper patient identification and specimen accessioning. Maintain documentation and support high-quality, error-free collections. Maintain professional, courteous relationships with VA patients and staff.
Qualifications:
Medical Technologist / Technician Certification by
ASCP , AMT
, or equivalent (MT, MLS, or CLS). Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or related field. Minimum 1 year of recent experience as a generalist in all lab areas. Completion of a clinical practice program and full compliance with all licensure/certification requirements. Phlebotomist Recent, hands-on experience (within the last year). Skilled in venipuncture and specimen accessioning. Must speak, read, and write English fluently.
Schedule:
Day Shift:
7:30am•4:00pm or 8:00am•4:30pm (Monday-Friday; rotating weekends)
Evening Shift:
3:30pm•
Midnight Night Shift:
Midnight•8:30am
Optional:
7-on / 7-off rotations or other shifts based on facility needs.
Additional Requirements:
Proof of certification, licensure, training, and education required upon request. Must be technically proficient, dependable, and committed to high-quality patient care. Previous VA experience is highly preferred. Must be able to start immediately upon award.
