The Medical Lab Technologist shall provide timely and courteous service to patients, physicians, and hospital staff by performing laboratory analyses accurately and efficiently. This individual will detect unusual conditions and assume responsibility for problem solving. This position may have additional duties assigned as needed.
Qualifications
Associate degree with MLT and clinical laboratory training culminating in national certification, as defined by American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) Board of Registry required. Or Bachelor degree in Biology, Microbiology, Immunology, Medical or Clinical Laboratory Sciences, Allied Health or other related field required. Associate degree requires
ASCP MLT
certification. Ability to work from broad directions and be self motivated. Ability to prioritize workload to achieve maximum efficiency. Ability to effectively communicate with people of various backgrounds throughout the organization. Ability to provide a positive customer service experience to guest, visitors, and patients. Knowledge of HIPAA standards and regulations. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills. The ability to communicate effectively with patients, guest, and hospital personnel. The ability to show compassion and sensitivity for patient comfort. The ability to maintain confidentiality
