This fulltime represented position is responsible for operating and maintaining sampling equipment to obtain a wide variety of samples of aerospace gas and fluid commodities used at KSC and USSFS and deliver to the laboratory for analysis. Work will be performed onsite at the Kennedy Space Center.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

High School diploma
One or more years of experience in sampling aerospace related commodities with knowledge of sampling equipment or related experience

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

Must be able to pass the following KSC-provided physicals:
Fuel Handlers
SCAPE
Working at heights
Confined Space
Respirator
Possession of/ability to; qualify for Florida Commercials Driver’s License, Class C
Ability to work as part of a team
Able to work in enclosed areas and heights up to 500 feet
Able to follow written and oral instructions
Able to withstand stress of repetitive tasks and pressure of critical deadlines
Must be able to read, comprehend and follow prescribed procedures
Computer literate

RESPONSIBILITIES

Transport hypergols, cryogens, high-pressure gases and hardware from various work areas to decontamination, cleaning facilities and laboratories.
Repair, maintain, set-up, purge and prepare sampling equipment for certification and calibrations.
Perform specified on-site analyses utilizing devices such as velometers, temperature/humidity measuring instruments, flowmeters, contamination counters, leak rate probes, recorders and gas regulator panels.
Maintain work records, record sample system data and assist in preparation and evaluation of sampling procedures.
Safely perform all work in compliance with laboratory best practices and local policies and procedures
