REPORTS TO

OF NURSING POSITION OBJECTIVES
Responsible for providing direct and indirect laboratory services as needed and ordered by the Director of Medical Services. Works with a variety of behavioral health treatment programs including Federal, State and Probation related services. Provide the staff with laboratory services to adult and adolescent patients in detoxification, residential, and outpatient.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Ensure quality internal and external customer care and service.
Conduct drug testing in accordance with established policies and procedures, rules and regulations. Receive and distribute results in a timely manner. Monitor drug testing phone line. Bill for outside agencies using our drug testing services. Perform blood draws for testing. Assist with the admission procedures for patients coming into detox. Perform special projects and other Agency related assignments.
PERFORMANCE STANDARDS
- Must be able to complete all required trainings.
Must abide by Agency’s Code of Ethics, Agency Standards, Policy and Procedures Manuals. Strict adherence to the Incident (Unusual Event) Reporting, timekeeping, and work attendance requirements. Must complete a minimum of 20 hours of job related training annually. Must practice universal precautions as part of regular job duties whenever applicable. Demonstrate proficiency in verbal de-escalation skills with juveniles and adults. Demonstrate proficiency in physical intervention techniques with juveniles and adults. Maintain the work area in a clean and orderly condition. Ensure safe operating conditions within the area of responsibility. Timely and regularly complete all required documentation, reports, and other Agency related paperwork. Must be able to perform assigned work independently with minimal supervision. Ability to function as an effective team member. Must not engage in behaviors that erode the cohesiveness of the program staff. Gateway Community Services is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
