This is technical work analyzing drinking water for organic and inorganic contaminants. This position is fully responsible for organic and inorganic analyses and assisting lab analysts in their work. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Environmental Laboratory Manager.

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES

Collect water samples.

Analyze organics and inorganics.

Prepare solutions and conduct special tests.

Maintain accurate reports and records.

Conduct laboratory correspondence related to particular area of work.

Run routine and special analyses and tests and operate specialized equipment, including Inductively Coupled Plasma/Atomic Absorption and Gas Chromatography/Ion Chromatography.

Operate within

EPA, HRS

quality control guidelines.

Answer questions of a technical nature.

Back-up and assist laboratory analyst in their work (including Field Sampling, Wet-Chemistry, and Microbiology) as needed.

Fosters positive employee relations and employee morale on a City-wide basis.
