  • Digital Imaging Pathology Technician
  • with
  • experience in Anatomic Pathology
  • who will support Emory Healthcare’s mission of clinical care, education, and research by demonstrating the core values of excellence, caring, and integrity.
This individual:

+ Performs all aspects of digital imaging of glass microscopic slides. + Retrieves microscopic glass slides from appropriate laboratory section. + Utilizes high-throughput automated scanner instruments, following established laboratory protocols and policies for slide digitizing. + Utilizes hospital informatics, hospital picture archiving & communication system (PACS) and digital informatics software to track various stages of scanning completion. + Responsible for quality assurance of images to include troubleshooting instrumentation problems, reporting suboptimal slides to appropriate laboratory personnel, and documentation of issues & resolutions. + Responsible for communicating preanalytical errors to appropriate laboratory personnel. + Effectively communicates delays and quality issues with pathologists. + Responsible for distributing and/or filing of glass microscopic slides as required after digitizing is complete. + Responsible for routine maintenance of automated scanner instruments. + Performs other related duties as required.

  • Minimum Requirements
  • + A high school diploma or equivalent is required. + Intermediate computer skills; medical terminology preferred. + Experience with digital pathology scanning preferred.

Shift work, travel may be required. Use of personal protective equipment, including respirators may be required.
