Position Summary:

Supports testing of a variety of chemical, biological, or microbiological analyses on products, raw materials, in-process materials, or stability samples in support of the company’s quality program. May perform qualitative tests or quantitative assays on samples using techniques that vary from use of standard analytical equipment to highly modern and automated instrumentation.

Salary range:

$18.50 – $19.50 depending on experience. There is a Evening position and a Day Shift position.

Specific Responsibilities:

Capable of accessioning surgical pathology specimens utilizing a Laboratory Information System (LIS). Properly label specimens components (jars, cassettes, slides, etc.). Maintain filing systems to include FFPE tissue blocks, prepared slides, and related documents. Enforce proper chemical hygiene practices to ensure a safe and compliant working environment. Perform chemical hazardous waste disposal in accordance with regulatory guidelines. Comply with quality control policies and SOPs to ensure all aspects of laboratory operation are performed in accordance with accepted standards and applicable laws for clinical laboratories. Perform case distribution. Perform laboratory duties and other required support functions to support department objectives. May perform other duties as assigned by supervisor/manager/director. Qualifications & Experience:

High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) At least one year of experience in a medical setting Minimum one year of laboratory experience; customer service, specimen processing Demonstrated knowledge of computer systems and design

Summary:

Cognitive Skills Performs routine technical tasks working from detailed written or verbal instructions. Performs routine set-up, testing, repair, inspection, and/or maintenance of certain area-specific equipment, materials, systems, and/or product. Supervision Received Close supervision. Receives detailed instructions on all assignments and constant checking of work assignments. Consequence of Errors Errors can be easily and quickly detected within the immediate work unit and would result only in minor disruption or expense to correct. Contacts Contacts are primarily within the immediate work unit. Contacts involve obtaining or providing information requiring little explanation or interpretation.

Time Commitment:

The role is a PRN or “as needed” on site.
